Jay has been practicing landscape architecture since 1972, founding Graham Landscape Architecture in 1984 and merging with Moody Landscape Architecture to form Moody Graham in 2016.

His experience spans institutional, residential, historic, recreational, public, and commercial projects with an emphasis on site design that blends architecture and landscape.

Jay received his bachelor’s degree in architecture and draws upon that knowledge to collaborate with architects during the design process. Bringing an understanding of site conditions and natural processes, he works to shape the landscape into beautiful places forming unique outdoor spaces that take advantage of each site’s distinct character and ecology.

Jay’s knowledge of history, creativity, and experience have resulted in numerous feature articles and awards for campus projects, properties, urban gardens, and signature projects, including Honor Awards from the Maryland and Potomac Chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architecture.
